Over the years the name of Oak Grove’s annual fall festival has change many times. During the 2020 pandemic, the world went into a state of lock down. Events were cancelled, people lost their jobs, store were closed, and groceries were limited. During this time, the world began to reflect upon what was truly important in life; Family, tradition, and, community. It is for this reason, with the revival of the 2021 fall festival, Oak Grove’s annual fall festival was renamed “Lickskillet Days,” after the original name of our wonderful town “Lickskillet.” The town of Lickskillet was renamed “Oak Grove” for the Oak Trees near the Original town site, when the city was platted in 1878.
Lickskillet Days 2022 is presented by the Oak Grove Chamber of Commerce.
The Oak Grove Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization comprised of local businesses, organizations and individuals. It is governed by a 10-member volunteer Board of Directors and staffed by Director of Community Development, Shayla Baxter.
